At Sierra Pacific,
every day is Earth Day.

Sometimes manufacturing windows is simply a business. At Sierra Pacific, it’s a complete environmental initiative. Sierra Pacific Windows is part of Sierra Pacific Industries, a third-generation family-owned forest products company with a rich history in seed-to-window manufacturing.
As part of Sierra Pacific Industries—founded in 1949 by Archie Aldis “Red” Emmerson and his father—Sierra Pacific Windows is backed by a third-generation, family-owned forest products company. What began with just two sawmills has grown into a sustainable operation managing over 2.4 million acres of timberland in California and Washington. For every tree harvested, two or three are planted, reflecting a deep, long-term commitment to forest stewardship and sustainability.
“Our windows are made from trees we grow ourselves, that carries a lot of weight in terms of sustainability.”
- Dave DePinto, regional manager for Sierra Pacific Windows in Elk Grove Village.
Sierra Pacific believes that healthy trees, good water quality and enduring wildlife habitats are the natural result of sound forest management practices. They strictly adhere to the environmental protection standards of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® – the highest standards in the world. As a result, Sierra Pacific Industries plants at least 10 million new trees every year and will nearly triple the amount of wood growing on its lands in the next 100 years.

Zero waste isn’t just lip service
Sierra Pacific’s environmental efforts go far beyond reforestation. Their facilities practice zero-waste manufacturing—repurposing wood by-products into energy, landscape material, and even animal bedding. Their seven cogeneration plants generate enough renewable power to run operations and supply local utilities.
“Every day is Earth Day at our company. Every day we’re managing forests, we’re creating energy, we’re managing the wildlife. There are all kinds of people within our company that, every day, are contributing back to what makes our story unique,” said DePinto.
As they broke into the local market, they focused on catering to custom and semi-custom single-family home builders. As they’ve established their name, and distinguished themselves from the pack, they are setting their sights on growing the business here. “Our team focuses on relationships, service, and communication,” says DePinto. “We make people feel good about working with us—and our products speak for themselves.”
