When Chuck Marsh joined the Marines in 1996, he had no idea that 23 years later he’d be at the helm of one of the most successful electrical supply companies in the area. But it’s the lessons learned during his four-year military career that he’s used to grow Wolf Electric Supply Co. into what it is today.

For more than 30 years, Wolf has been meeting the needs of electrical contractors with a vast selection of quality products from over 100 different product lines including lighting, gear, electrical supplies, fixture storage, wire reeling and recycling of used lighting. While they may specialize in supporting some of Chicagoland’s largest commercial and industrial construction projects, they pride themselves on delivering unsurpassed customer service no matter the project size.

It's that dedication to personal service that has helped Marsh grow the business from a $3 million operation in 2019 to more than $18 million in sales last year. Wolf is a Certified Minority-(MBE), Veteran-(VBE) and Disadvantaged-(DBE)-owned business, and those certifications certainly help get a foot in the door, but it’s the personal service the company provides that keeps customers coming back again and again.

“Once I get the opportunity, I can show customers that with me, they’ll get the personal response they won’t find from a big corporation. We want to show them that we can do everything that the big dogs can and take care of them even better.”

- Chuck Marsh, President, Wolf Electric Supply

In a world where everything is done online, having that face-to-face connection is something that Marsh feels strongly about. As an electrical supply company and a small business, he’s selling the same products as the competition, and he may not even be the cheapest, but by delivering that personal connection, and the ability to reach his company with one call or text, he is differentiating Wolf from the proverbial pack.

“If we get an emergency call at 2 pm and a customer needs a part in a few hours, they know they can reach us and we’ll be able to help right away,” he shares.

Customers know they can rely on the Wolf team’s understanding of the electrical trade. “We’re not electrical contractors, but it’s important to know the basics of the electrical business so we can give our customers the best solution for their needs,” Marsh explains.

Wolf Electric Supply recently moved to a new location within Elk Grove Village

Being a small, responsive company has helped them land jobs supplying fixtures, conduit and more to electricians working at O’Hare International airport

The Wolf Electric Supply warehouse is 12,000 square feet and home to 11 employees

Whether it’s working with his fellow soldiers on a humanitarian mission in East Timor or supplying lighting fixtures at O’Hare International Airport, Marsh has learned that real success only comes when you have a connection with your customers.

We thank Chuck Marsh and all Elk Grove Village military veterans for their service to our great country.
